Jan 22nd is next meeting

Our next meeting is Thursday, January 22nd.

We will discuss the "Everything old is new again" challenge and the June 6.5 inch block swaps.

We need people to step up for demonstrations.
Feb 26 - Strip swap discussion
March 26 - Meet at Quilt show
April 23 - Quilt show discussion and swap strips
May 28 - Misprinted fabric challenge launched
June 25 - Swap 6.5 inch blocks, quilts due in September
July 23 - Everything old is new again challenge due.
August 27 - Decades discussion led by Kathy Mathews
                    Decades challenge begins
Sept 24 - Block swap quilts reveal
Oct 22 - Photo swap challenge
Dec 3 - Holiday swap - candle rugs


Who else wants to lead a discussion, do a demo and help the group?

Show and Tell - December 4th, 2014

Not only did we eat, drink and be merry on December 4th but we also had a fabulous show and tell. If you want to see the quilts in person, you have to come to the meetings!


Anita made not one not two but three Friendship Star quilts.

Joan showed us this terrific quilt.

Jane's professional tote made us all drool with envy. 

Pat "flew" in with this gorgeous bird quilt. 

Catherine shared many lovelies that she had made for classes or challenges. 

Each one is just great!

Catherine has forgotten she won't be volunteering in February. She's over it!

Holiday Meeting - December 4th, 2014

We had a wonderful holiday meeting last week. There were treats and ornaments plus a surprised discount from the store.

Show and Tell for October

We had 10 items for our Show and Tell on October 24th.

Anita shared this study in black and colors.

Text Challenge

We only had two projects made for our text challenge. 


Joan made this sign so her husband could spot her in the crowd as he ran the Chicago Marathon. 

Kathy made 6 scrappy coasters using text fabric.

Sewathon possible in February

Our very own Tracy Mooney wrote an article for Generation Q magazine about Days for Girls.  which was very well received. If you click on the link you will see what an important endeavor it is. Modern Table Runner Challenge

This was my favorite, heirloom smocking to create a gorgeous rainbow!
Kathy finished her Tree Grows in Brooklyn runner a couple of hours before the meeting.
Catherine shared two from her Quilting Arts program with us and the stunning placemats
